A classic country/Americana trio, formed in early 2023 in Pine Island, MN, when drummer Chris Jones met vocalist/guitarist Paul Stewart. The two immediately recognized the parity between their musical interests, pledging to assemble an ensemble that paid homage to the country-and-western tradition by adapting the songs of legends such as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Strait, the Eagles, and many other artists. Shortly thereafter, they recruited bassist Will Stryker to complete the triangle. The three now rehearse and perform as often as their schedules allow. The band’s name has both symbolic and concrete roots. “Dodge” is an allusion to Dodge City, Kansas, an epicenter of the Old West, while “North” depicts coordinates relevant to Minnesota. Hence, the trio is literally North of Dodge, demonstrating that the classic country/Americana genre travels comfortably to any destination.
